After The Bell: CJ O’Doyle
Do you really know the wrestlers of IGNITE Wrestling? We are going after the bell this time with the Irish Lionheart CJ O’Doyle and learn who influences, some secrets and more in this installment.
How old were you when you saw your first live wrestling match?
I was 8 years old when I saw my first match on TV and 8 or 9 years old when I saw my first live event.
Where did you begin your training and who trained you?
I began my training in Philadelphia with Billy Reil and Pitbull Gary Wolf from ECW and then moved on to the Samoans.
What is your entrance music? Any reason for picking this song?
My entrance music is Run But You Can’t Hide. There is a story but it’s kind of an Easter egg that I’m going to save for the right time.
Who are some of your influences or people that you look up to in the business?
I would say my top 3 style influences (in no particular order) would be: Chris Benoit, The Franchise Shane Douglas, and Triple H.
Who would your dream match be against?
I’ve been extremely fortunate to have wrestled so many idols who became my rivals. At this point, I’d say my dream match would be against Triple H.
Other than the dream match opponent, is there anyone that you haven’t worked with that you would like to one day?
I’ve really just been so fortunate but other than Triple H, and I suppose keeping this strictly indies I’d like to work with Cody, Sami, and Yehi just to name three.
What is something that not many people know about you?
Hmm, not many fans know probably just how long I’ve been wrestling, or that I’m a cat lover, or that I recently had a son.
Finish this statement, if I wasn’t involved in wrestling I would be….
If I wasn’t in wrestling I’d be a broadcast journalist.
