After The Bell: Gabriel Lacey

He is by far the most physically large and intimidating member of our roster but how well do you really know Gabriel Lacey? Join us as we go after the bell to learn more about the man behind the lariat.

How old were you when you saw your first live wrestling match? 22. The first live match I watched was at my school where I started training.

Where did you begin your training and who trained you? I started training in Ocala in 2014, with Dory funk Jr.

What is your entrance music? Any reason for picking this song? I have two that I use. Machine, by Born of Osiris is probably the one I use most frequently. It has a great build up into a really powerful guitar riff, making it perfect for a high energy entrance. The other one I use occasionally is the Godzilla cover by Serj Tankian, it was used as a theme for the newest Godzilla movie. The reason I use that one should be easy to determine haha.

Who are some of your influences or people that you look up to in the business? Kenta Kobashi, Kane, Jon Davis, Aaron Epic, Dr Death, Stan Hansen, Bruiser Brody

Who would your dream match be against? This is a tough question. I feel like I haven’t been around long enough to have a dream match yet. I want to wrestle everyone, everywhere, and face opponents of every style.

Other than the dream match opponent, is there anyone that you haven’t worked with that you would like to one day? Everybody! I want to prove that I’m a big guy who can get in the ring with anyone and hang with them step for step.

What is something that not many people know about you? Haha probably a couple things, as I’m a fairly private person. But probably the biggest thing that’s shocking people right now is that I’m a guitarist in a death metal band from Ocala, FL called Eroding the Past.

Finish this statement, if I wasn’t involved in wrestling I would be…. I don’t really know. I’d probably be living in Indiana, so I could be closer to my family and see my little nephews more often. As far as work? I have no idea what I’d be doing. I’m a personal trainer right now and I really enjoy that, so maybe I’d go with that full time.
